The T-Twin is a pickup that was a huge surprise! Originally it came about as an order from a great customer and Tele obsessive. He wanted to put a double tele neck pickup in a project guitar of his that was also getting one of our BroadFIVE0 Set pickups in the bridge. The pickup was to be two Alnico 3 based, open nickel cover tele neck pickups wired in series, and of opposing polarity as in a classic humbucker. On top of that they needed to be splittable for access to two quite different sounds and also all mount onto a humbucker baseplate for ease of installation.

After some prototyping and testing we ended up with a pickup that far exceeded our, and most importantly the customers expectations. In full Humbucker its rich and beefy but unlike most traditionally constructed buckers at such an output, there’s no sense of mud or lack of clarity or character. Split its simply the much loved neck pickup from our most popular tele set in all the ways you would hope. It’s open and vocal with good clarity and a truly addictive tone!
